For the past 15 years, I worked in the film industry, bringing creativity and collaboration to every project. Now, I’m excited to bridge that creative background into the world of software development. I’m passionate about crafting clean, thoughtful code and building tools that solve real problems — combining my storytelling mindset with technical skills to create meaningful digital experiences.
My Story
From a young age, I was fascinated by technical tools and how they could merge with creativity to make something unique. This passion led me to pursue a career in sound recording, and I went on to study at the Savannah College of Art and Design, where I graduated Magna Cum Laude.
Shortly after graduating, I moved to Atlanta and quickly found my footing on union film sets. Over the past 15 years, I worked my way up to the top of my field in the film industry, contributing to numerous projects and honing my craft.
Lately, with the industry’s changing landscape, longer hours, lower pay, and fewer opportunities, I decided it was time for a new chapter. I’m now transitioning into software development to find safer working conditions, a stable salary, and new challenges where I can continue to grow.
So, I took a leap of faith and enrolled in a full-stack web development bootcamp. For three intense months, I locked myself away in my office, coding 10 hours a day, seven days a week. The hard work paid off: I finished at the top of my class and built a fully functional app called PrepMyWeek. It’s live now, with a growing user base, and it showcases everything I’ve learned about creating thoughtful, scalable software.
